With a background in photojournalism and festival production Carol worked as a consultant to channel 4 from 2009 – 2015 developing partnerships and award winning programmes for their 4Talent brand. She was one of Labour Culture Minister Tessa Jowell’s 16 Magicians developing the first Creative Partnerships programmes in Teesside and later Northumberland where she oversaw the commissioning of the Anthem for Northumberland film shot and scored by young people in Northumberland. She directed the national Shine festival of youth talent in 2008/9 working with the talent and enterprise task force at the dept of education to engage over a million young people in their own creativity.
From the late 1980’s to 2002 Carol made North Shields Fish Quay Festival and later the Orange WOW festival a gateway festival for world music and street theatre alongside giving emerging talent an audience.
Nominated for the 2018 Diversity in Media Champion Award Carol is committed to opening doors and creating opportunities.
