Primarily a sculptor RB has worked for 30 years on all kinds of outdoor events.

Primarily a sculptor RB has worked for 30 years on all kinds of outdoor events.

He is known as a designer and maker of costume and large scale makes. He has a breadth of experience and technique allowing confidence in all kinds of materials. Training as a sculptor also gives a depth to his work with knowledge of casting techniques and reproduction. He has worked on numerous fire events and is confident in working safely in this area. Recent highlights include a 30-foot ship over a lorry for Derry, city of culture 2013. Design and production of Whitley Bay carnival for the past 4 years including the Big Bad Wolf for 2018. A giant Judge for the Peace Parade on the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle 2017.

RB has worked for Freeform Arts Trust, DC events, Walk the Plank, And So events, Neighbourhood Watch and House of Objects. He was public art officer for Newcastle City Council. He has produced public art commissions for North Tyneside Council, Newcastle City Council, Cumbria County Council, South Tyneside Council, Blyth District Council. As designer maker of the Mortal Orchestra he has worked in France, Ireland, The Netherlands, Spain and the USA.

RB enjoys the challenge of creating work for outdoor events. He looks to create an environment where creativity is allowed to flow and where challenges become opportunities. In this environment, RB feels he and others will be able to produce work which can be innovative and exciting and that will enable challenge to go beyond the norm and to build skills and knowledge. RB enjoys mentoring younger or less experienced artists and welcomes this as an opportunity.
